What makes a good horror? First of all, the atmosphere of suspense. You need to feel in danger all the time – that’s what makes adrenaline flow through your veins and keeps you on edge. And that’s exactly why we play horror games. But that’s not all. Secondly, you need a proper antagonist. Everyone is tired of brutal killers and terrifying monsters – they are just too obvious. Another thing is someone – or something – that looks totally innocent and maybe even cute. Both of these conditions are in place when you launch Poppy Playtime!
This is a game where you have to survive being surrounded by killer toys. And you shouldn’t be fooled by their harmless appearance! Their plush paws were meant for hugs, but now they have turned into horrible murder weapons. And their broad smiles only appear on their faces when they realize their victim is cornered and won’t go anywhere. So anything soft and cozy you can see at this old empty toy factory may actually be fatal to you! Keep that in mind playing this awesome horror game!
So what exactly you need to do here? In one word – stay alive. The factory is a huge location divided into several zones with multiple rooms. There is the main hall where you will find plenty of doors leading somewhere. They all need to be opened using buttons and levers, sometimes security codes you can find in the computers or pick on your own. Some levers are hard to reach or pull – there are various devices you can use for this purpose, including the signature backpack with a pair of mechanic hands.
Some of the places containing interesting things and pieces of data are the security room, the headquarters and of course the workshop. This is where you should be particularly careful because it’s where the toys reside. You can figure out that you’re getting close to their habitat when you start seeing production lines, plastic hands and heads scattered around, empty boxes with images of those toys and ad posters glued to walls. Get ready for a thrilling confrontation and don’t die!
